As usual, Rook had set out breakfast. Boiled mealgrain was available with an assortment of fruits, spices and sweeteners to add for individual tastes. It was an intentionally light offering after the previous night's feast. For those with a heartier appetite, however, she prepared nuna egg omelets. ...

She nodded. "I should do some hunting, of one kind or another."

"The nuna legs are simple, but very good, whether fried or roasted." she said. "If you'd like to start with something lighter, there's a meiloorun fruit salad that's quite refreshing."

"Perhaps. But, when I am not the most accurate, the strongest or the toughest, then others may have to carry me." She shook her head. "Better to stay here and provide in other ways than that."

"I'll think about it." she said after a quiet moment. "Those are good suggestions. As I am, I simply don't have a physicality suited for combat. That seems like a lot of upgrades. Improved communication would be good, as long as I am not a liability in the field."

"That's true." she nodded. "But, I think I can do more. I want to do more."

"It took me all day." she shrugged. "I enjoy cooking though. I always have. Would you like some suggestions?"

"We all do what we can." she smiled. "This is my small part. Rook wasn't sure who the woman was or why she seemed flustered, but she was welcome in the enclave and should be shown that.

"Come with me." she offered a hand. "Some good food and good company should be just what you need."

At this point, most of the feast had been served and all that Rook needed to do was replenish anything that was running low. She was more relaxed now, and more sociable.

She paused as she crossed the path of their guest and smiled. "Good evening. Are you enjoying everything?"
