As others were getting instruments out, Raven joined in with the others as she brought out her harmonica.
While waiting around for everyone to get ready, she was sipping from some of the spiced ale, perhaps a touch more silent than she usually was.

Having already taken a shot of corellian whisky, Forte tests the strings on his fiddle when he notices Raven with her harmonica. "Good to see you're walking well."

Raven gives him a quick grin. "Would you believe me if I said a torpedo is not the thing that has banged me up the most?"

"Considering the kind of trouble Lysa seems to get into and your close friendship with her? Not too surprised." Casually adjusts a string to be more in tune.

"Right," she nods, her smile still present as she turns the harmonica over in her hands. Lysa did have a reputation, even in such a short time.
"What about yourself? Surely you've faced bigger dangers than what we did yesterday."

"Growing up on the capital during the clone wars, yeah. However recent history has taught me that it's in poor taste to talk about that past. Never can tell who is still hurting from it."

"Coruscant?" her eyebrows raise a little with surprise at the mention of capital. "Ah... right, yeah. You're probably right."
Raven looks around the hall, seeing their various brothers and sisters feasting. "There's a lot of painful pasts here in this room, I think." With that, she looks back to Forte, "I'm sorry for the losses you've endured though, brother."

"Mandalore actually, I went to one of those fancy school Satine Kryze made. Was actually working towards being a musician before, you know. However, I am of the belief that talking about the past helps it hurt a little less. Now I also know the stakes are too high sometimes, but it's up to each and every person to decide their course." His windpipes open a little to let out a subtle, but haunting sound, something akin to wind pushing through a willow's branches.

"Really?" she in fact seems interested in the part about Satine and the schooling on Mandalore. "As for talking about the past... can't say I disagree there. Mostly because I think it's lighter to carry the burden of a painful past together with someone, rather than holding onto it on your own."
Of course, everyone felt differently.
The haunting sounds are quite intriguing, and Raven brings up her harmonica to her mouth. She manages a soft pressure against the instrument, creating a low and gentle tune to accompany the sounds from the actual musician.

(ooc, not that musically inclined but we can make do)
With the two soft sounds replicating wind against trees, Forte begins to pluck the strings on the fiddle. This creates a tone of something coming on the wind, or maybe someone. Once the tune is made without the need for his throat, he continues the conversation. "My father was a mercenary before he came to Mandalore, hired his skills out to help arrest dangerous criminals in the outer rim. Secured a good reputation, which he then used to help in the civil war. He hoped that living in the core would lead to a better future for us."

Raven listened to the music as well as Forte's story. It was one she could understand, as it was not too different from her father's when he had chosen to leave behind Onderon and Dxun for Mandalore.
"With the New Mandalorians?" she asked in-between a natural pause in the tune, her tone curious and lacking in any judgement.

"Yes, the Drabatan voice control is legendary in the galaxy, but few are willing to take the time to go to the far reaches of the outer rim to recruit them. So when the Kryze family heard of one leading a task force to take down a slaving operation orbiting around Lucazec, they sent an envoy out to meet and extend an offer. Of course, with the stability that came from such an offer, my dad took it. After a few years of strife, the planet was stable enough for him to shift to a cushy desk job and start having a family of 4." "He then uses his throat to take over the whistling sound as if to extend the same courtesy to Raven l.

"Sounds pretty nice all around," she smiled a little and turned the instrument over in her hands. Not that most would consider Mandalore the most peaceful place to settle down, but perhaps it truly had been like that under duchess Satine. There wasn't much Raven could remember about it, especially living on Concord Dawn rather than the capital world.
"My parents supported the New Mandalorians too during the Civil War. Or at least, my mom did. Served with the Protectors during the duchess' reign, before they settled on Concord Dawn to raise a family. I think they wanted to preserve our people and heritage too, as they still taught my brother and I to hunt and such."
