[D4 LM] Every Day Is Leg-Day

It was rare to find some peace and quiet in the gym, but at least today she lucked out on getting in when no one else was there. At least not that she could see. While others often sought the chance to control the music for their workout, Raven was fine with letting the sound system be for now, and chose instead to exercise with nothing but the background noises of the rest of the Enclave.

As she was improving on her jetpack training, she focused her workout on stretches - making sure to keep her arms and especially legs limber and strong.

"Stars, the music system must be broken again. Ugggh, lame."
Mayrelli rolls her eyes as she enters the gym wearing the Mandalorian equivalent of sweatpants and a faded huttball team singlet. Her ball of hair was tied up but clearly straining to break free.

"Oh, hey Raven. Looking good! Your glutes got glutes." She fires over some finger guns before heading straight for the nearest punching bag and beginning a series of stretches, loosening up her shoulder and arms.

"How's marriage and all that stuff? Still good?"

"It should still be fine, May," Raven remarks with a chuckle in response, making sure to not stop her stretches. The gym was one of those few places she wasn't always in armor, so she was likewise dressed down as Mayrelli was. "Just didn't turn it on when I got in. All yours. And thanks!"

Compliments muscles was always good!

"Is pretty good, gotta say," she smiles, which then turns into a goofy-looking grin. "How'bout yourself? How's life treatin' you these days?"

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"Yes! In that case my day is looking up, hiiiiyah!" She inflicts an over-telegraphed high kick at the punching bag that sends it rattling on its chains before padding over to the music system. The resulting high energy music sounds a lot like Colonybeat from a few years ago.

"Now that's got me fired up." The poor punching bag has to suffer a running kick as Mayrelli returns to it and starts working the equipment over with a flurry of blows.

She doesn't miss the smile on Raven's face and nods happily to herself as she continues concentrating on her strikes. "Mmmmhm, you know. Same as it ever was I guess? Still trying to think on stuff, but this whole fight with the Empire has got most of my attention. Looking forward to punching a few of those scuzz suckers right in the face!"
She unnecessarily demonstrates this...several times.

She continues her exercises for a few more minutes before pausing and wiping away some sweat with a slight frown. "Hey, Raven. That Irizka person...she seem kinda weird to you?"

Mayrelli's enthusiasm ellicits a small laugh from Raven. No doubt everyone in the enclave was looking forward to giving the Empire what they deserved - which was a thorough ass-whooping.

Raven's expression does turn more serious as the topic of Irizka is brought up, and she pauses in her stretch before bringing her leg back down from the bench. "Weird feels kind of an... I dunno, an understatement? They give me the creeps, that's for sure."

She stops speaking to look around them and listen, making sure that the topic of conversation wasn't going to suddenly manifest now that their name had been spoken.

"I don't trust Irizka. Even if Mandalore seems to."

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"So glad it's not just me! She's all" May does her best imitation of the sith's voice " 'I will aid you...ominously!' and then Mandalore is all 'Well, I suppose so, to the ominous thing!' and then things start happening."

The bounty hunter taps her nose. "I got a good sense for this sort of thing, comes from my dad. He could smell the sneakiness off someone a mile away. But I bet Mandalore knows too. Maybe he's ready for her double cross with a counter double cross? She'll be all 'Just as planned' and then BLAM! He blasts her because he was expecting it."

She smiles happily at the imagined sight.

"Yeah, that would be pretty awesome. And if he's missed it I'll just jump in, take the hit meant for him, save his life and then just like that, life debt paid. That would be even more awesome. So either way, it's win-win."

She rolls her shoulders a few more times before deciding the bag had had enough as she heads over to the waits and starts fiddling with the dumbbells.

"Absolutely calling dabs on that right now. But if I'm not there you can be the one to heroically save the day."

Raven couldn't help but to chuckle a little, even with the seriousness of the matter. Again she glances around them, making sure they're alone, before she responds, "I can't imagine he's not aware of the possible dangers, and has planned for it in some way." Judging by her tone though, it seems like she is more hoping that it is the case.

"But yeah! If you're not there, I'll do my best, May. You can trust me on that!" She pumps her fist energetically with a grin. "Nobody crosses a Mandalorian and gets away with it, right?"

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"No!" grunt! "They do not!....I mean, not like we're extra vengeful or anything. I'll be annoyed if someone cuts in front of me but I'll probably forget in a day or two."

Pause.

"Unless we were queuing for something limited edition, pretty sure if someone cut while I was lining up for a Mon Cal Rib I'd get annoyed." The thought of someone not only cutting in front of her but then getting her limited edition food has Mayrelli pumping iron with vigour.

"Anyway, yeah. You'd totally get it. Weight off my mind....But if you get a life-debt from the big guy let me know if we can trade or something. What do you like? Something practical? Like...I dunno, most of the people hear like guns. Or maybe something with aesthetics? I got some hats?...Would probably have to be a lot of hats for a life-debt though....a lifetime supply at least."

"Life-debt...?" Raven seems to mull over the idea. Sure, there were people she owed. Some more than others. "What exactly is a life-debt? At least, in your opinion? Like, just saving your neck in a sticky situation or... something more?" Her hand wobbles a bit in a gesture to indicate that she wasn't quite grasping at it.

"I mean, we all kinda look after one another here, right?"

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"It has to be pretty direct. Like, if we're both fighting some empire and you save me or I save you that doesn't really count since it was expected, right? Like you say, we all look out for one another. In fact, I'd be kinda annoyed if you didn't save me and left me to die...but I guess probably not annoyed for very long."

She swaps her weights out for a lighter pair and starts working on reps.

"But for me a real life-debt is when someone goes out of their way to save you. Like, if after we were fighting you heard someone drove their speeder off a cliff and you flew over and risked your life to save 'em, then that's life-debt time. Unless they were like your brother or something. I hope your siblings can drive."

She gestures with a weight at herself.

"Big guy saved me when he didn't have to, and a bunch of other people. So I reckon that counts....but if I'm his long lost sister...hmmmm."

[Raven Cadera]

"If you are, you'd be my long lost sister-in-law," Raven teases with a warm chuckle. "But I guess I understand it a bit more... though to be honest, I'd probably go back to save you, though that may just be how I am."

Pausing between her words, she stretches her arms up and brings them down to massage her own neck. "You all are my family, my brothers and sisters. I'll do anything I can to make sure you get through this conflict with the Empire alive."

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"Awww, thanks Raven! I want to get through this conflict alive too. And while you might not be my sister in law...probably, I mean we can't rule it out 100%. You're a fellow clan member and pretty stand up too. I'd go back for you as well."

May grins. "That's what we do! Well, that and maybe a little neck strain from the look of it." The bounty hunter starts working through a series of different exercises to focus on her various arm and shoulder muscle groups. "We are gonna win this time though, right? Nobody defeats the Mandalorians 17 times in a row. We got this."

"I have faith we will win." Returning to her own exercises, Raven props her leg up on the bench to continue her stretches. "I mean, we can talk about how much we've lost, but when you're a group of warriors... well, I was never good at math, but I think that the more you fight you have like a higher amount of wins and losses than those who don't fight?"

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

May uses her own math skills to concentrate for a moment. "Yup, I think that sounds about right unless you're always drawing, which would be a little weird. But I think I get what you're saying. If you're willing to stand up and fight for stuff you're probably going to lose more than someone who doesn't, but you're probably also going to win more."

She seems to take this in stride as she carefully cleans and replaces her weights (Mando gym etiquette was quite strict) before jumping on the Star Wars equivalent off a cross-trainer. "And we've got lots of advantages, we have the ground, we have the equipment. Yeah, I reckon this time we'll win. Then we evacuate in suitably dramatic faction with the helm of Mandalore the...moniker and we're sweet as a bothan's tea."

Starting to huff a little as she pushed herself on the equipment.

"And then after that...has the big man told you what step 2 is?"

To keep the conversation going, Raven joins May on an adjacent cross-trainer.

"... Uh, no I don't think I know what Step 2 is?" she remarks, her breath picking up a little more to match her pace on the machine. "Do you know what Step 2 is then?"

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

"Sure, it's" puff "Right after one. And step 1 is when we escape off the planet with the relic. Step 2 is what we do next. It's a pretty important step."
She glances over at Raven.

"But I don't know what the next step is. And I kinda get it, if we don't do step 1 right there's no step 2. But I still want to know where we're going. Otherwise we're not going anywhere and that's pretty grim. Is step 2 finding a new home? Or are we going to Mandalore? I hear it really got trashed. Or is is striking at the empire? Striking at the empire is always good."

"Hmmm..." Raven slows the pace of her workout as she thinks. "I... would guess finding a new base would come first, since we do need a place to stay even if just for a short time." And as a nomadic people, she figured that it would work out find somehow.

"But uniting the Mandalorian people I would say is the next step, right? It's what Mandalore talks about. And if we're united, we can reclaim our homeworld."
