[Day 1 - Late Afternoon] Keeping Tabs

Soleene really found herself biting back the urge to groan when Sofia hinted at their history together. "Okay, so, is there anything else we need to talk about here?"

Day 1, Late Aternoon: Vigilance with Boost and Setback: 3eA+1eB+3eD+1eS 0 successes, 1 threat

[Captain Irevessa]

"Nothing we need,", she says, focusing back on Soleene. Looking from her to the men and women lining her table. "You are welcome to eat and drink with us, of course- but my suggestion to mingle with the crew is only a suggestion and nothing more of course," she says, the tease of a smile.

Sofia, away from the spotlight, drifted out of focus for the conversation.

"It's a little different than the last time when I hitched a ride with you and your crew last time, Captain. I'm more or less on the clock at the moment, at least until this who Imperial business blows over for the Enclave here. Eating and drinking are more of a social call, sorry. But, I'll hang around for a bit. I'm guessing we're not the only ones doing the lifting for this job?" She said with a momentary passing glance at Sofia. Was she called over to this meeting because she was involved or just arm candy?

"For the second part- no, we just need to get them here. That part will be all on us," she says, and then leans back. Placing a hand on Sofia's back who was still leaning forward, and calling her attention. "Do me a favor, go inform our friend about all of her questions?" she asks with a smile that belay some surface warmth at least.

"Can always count on me," Sofia returns, with a bit of a smile, and then proceeds to get up and shift her way outside around the table. Everyone along the line clearing the way for her with that little bit of deference granted. Something that would surely only happen if at least one half of the truth of the situation was at least the arm candy bit. Irevessa had some claim, and none of the others would dare impeded Sofia with anything let alone exiting a table.

Coming out the other side she'd step up to Soleene, keeping it conversational, "Shall we?" she asks, and gives a nod toward the bar as a suggestion.

Soleene found herself looking at the others at the table who moved aside for Sofia as she moved out. While Soleene didn't completely know Irevessa, she didn't think the captain recruited often enough that the others didn't have some seniority built into their history. Sofia had to get bumped a few leagues above a few of them at least.

Her posture was neutral and business even as Sofia approached. After a beat, she would merely nod her head at the suggestion. "Let's go," she would say before approaching the bar with her.

Walking up to the bar, the other tender who wasn't Elmira comes up and smiles upon seeing Sofia. Sofia only needs to hold up two fingers for him to understand what she wants. Turning with her elbow hooked onto the counter she looks to Soleene, hesitating a second and with a touch of discomfort in her tone she says, "Good to see you again, Soleene," she says, and smiles sheepishly.

"And good to see you again, Sofia," she said as a matter of fact as she crossed her arms and leaned against the bar. "I know you make your way around the galaxy but I never thought that you'd just happen to be here, which is almost the middle of nowhere. Well, I suppose it's been a long while. How you've been?"

"Honest, knowing when we parted that I was off to the wide galaxy and you were headed home probably- well, didn't think we'd ever see one another again. Which.. guess thought is that the whole thing seems kinda unlikely on the grand scale right? So maybe the middle of nowhere ain't exactly the most surprising part about the whole thing," she says with the light touch of a smile, a laugh.

Nodding toward the bartender she adds, "Hope you don't mind I ordered you a drink?" she gives a breath of space. "I've been good, well- I've been having a good time," she smirks, "how've you been?"

Soleene let out a long sigh. "My line of work and lifestyle makes it rather difficult to keep in touch when sometimes I don't exactly know where I'll be going next sometimes, so I know that's completely on me. Sorry about that. Also, I figured that you'd do well in a place like Coruscant or Corellia. Then again, we met at a place like Bellionas and that place isn't exactly sunshine and rainbows for someone who seems like sunshine and rainbows."

She found her glance back their way to see if anyone was eavesdropping on their conversation. "Not that I'm complaining see you again, just surprised to see you rolling with a woman like Irevessa. I suppose she won't see you out for an Imperial bounty but she's still a pirate. You need to only blink three times if you're in trouble."

She couldn't help but look around the bar and thought back that she and Sofia just happen to meet at a bar like this one for drinks, albeit a swankier one. "Sorry...what I said back there kind of goes. Drinking and chilling on the job, not quite my thing. But I'm doing good. I'm still alive and have all my limbs, always a good thing. Busy is perhaps the long and short of it."

Sofia laughs, brightly and warmly. Finding herself forward with that little magnetism more than any real concentrated effort she slides in close to Soleene, a passive hand resting on the other womans forearm if she allowed her, "I'm glad you have all your limbs still, would be a shame if you couldn't lift me still," she teases a little. "I get it though, busy and all-" she shrugs, "But hey, happy coincidences are better than planning going wrong mm?"

"Irevessa isn't a one gig kinda gal though.. pirate, definitely, but she likes to consider herself quite the visionary for all sorts of ways to get ahead- she's earned her reputation certainly though," she sighs softly, coming down a little from the flush of feeling. "Still.. dangerous, so.. think about it before you really get involved with her here, yea? I mean.." she laughs, "I'd appreciate having you around of course. Just don't want you getting mixed up in anything that conflicts with your morals mm?"

It might have been a bad idea to allow someone to get this close to her but perhaps Soleene gave Sofia some leniency based on their history and let her hand get as far as touching her forearm. Soleene's gaze seemed to linger on Sofia as she did so and she inclined her head once. "I wouldn't be able to do much around here if I couldn't at least lift. At least do my share of the lift in the 'family'."

She looked off in Irevassa's direction for a moment before looking back to Sofia. "Oh, I'm sure the Captain is a very capable leader, I suppose I'm just hoping that she's mostly good people at least. Some people just might view the Empire as obstacles to their profits than tyrants to the people. Well, I'm sure you're bunking with good company at least. As for people, it's not like I'm agreeing to move arms and credits for her, just do a bit of head-busting and such. Seeing as how my morning started, this was going to be incidental anyway."

"She's not," she says, quirking up a half-smirk that she wasn't really committed to. Glancing over Soleene's shoulder checking out the environment a little before focusing back on the woman. Even if it was just a visor, Sofia's gaze didn't travel very far. "Sometimes good people work for bad people cause it suits them. Sometimes, you can do a good thing helping a bad person. Right now.. this one is suiting me- keeps me traveled, and I guess it brought me back your way so I can't complain too much," she smiles a little.

"And, you know, I think I've always just heard you talk about head-busting. All these promises of all this head busting you do and I haven't seen it once, no security guards- no nothing," she smiles a little broader, leaning in on the note just a tad for that comfortable familiarity.

Soleene found herself tilting her head slightly at Sofia at the quip she made, wondering if it was a jest or it was a warning of sorts. Considering the smirk, she would have to assume it was the former. "I'm very sure you can take care of yourself to make sure that you're always on the up and up. You don't exactly go tangling with Imperials so casually. Well, I just wanted to make sure that you were doing okay and treated right at the end of the day. You two do look good together."

"Ah, well," she said with a shrug as she shuffled in her step a little. "It's nothing I do without a good reason, not for fun or kicks. Trust me, it does happen and usually when I'm not around good company. It did almost get pretty close back at the casino when you were disrespected. You were able to rein me down just a bit. I guess it would have been less fun putting bandages on me compared to just having ice cream."

Sofia can't quite help but smile at that, glancing down and away from Soleene as she catches herself on something. Sighing with that little uplifting tone of someone who was pleased by something she looks back toward her. Sofia digs around a little looking for the softest part of Soleene's outfit on her arm, Brushing Soleene's arm where Soleene would feel it most. Passively, more than with any intention of calling attention to the action.

"I could have made some fun out of it, I think," she teases with a little glow. "But having ice cream in whoever's penthouse that was would always have been the better option. Was rather a fun night, shame there aren't any penthouses to break into around here.." she teases the expression of a woman thinking about her options.

Again, she might have been bothered by anyone exploring the bits of her armour but she was going to allow Sofia a pass here. She supposed she wasn't this 'dressed up' when they last met.

"No," she let out a short chortle at that thought. "But I'm sure there are plenty of other options without needing to retread on old paths. We did manage to capture lightning in a bottle twice, somehow. It seems that we're just the adventuring sorts who find themselves in the oddest of places when the occasion calls for it."

She looked off in Irevessa's direction before looking back to Sofia "...But I think your current boss was hoping that you'd share some details with me about the job. I would hate to get her on her bad side if she doesn't want us just chatting and catching up, right?"

"We'll have time for a bit," she notes, fingers tapping along Soleene's armor plate while she pauses to allow thought a moment.

"In Irevessa that bit there translates to 'Sofia, go take her over there and answer any questions she might have so I don't have to be bothered with it," she chuckles, but only for effect. "So guess that means I'm all yours for the moment. If there's anything you wanna know, I'll do my best. Ask away~"

Soleene out an amused snicker. "Huh, and here I thought she was rolling the red carpet treatment for me with the way she was buttering me up. Then again, I'm not going to lie about who I'd rather talk to," she said with her gaze seemingly lingering on Sofia.

She looked up for a moment as she spoke. "Well, if I'm going to get into trouble with a few of my kin, I'm going to need as many details as I can get on this job. Like, where exactly where going, how many people, and what we're after. I'm fine with a bit of improvising but when more technical things are involved, something tells me I should be taking a different route. I don't want to smash the wrong thing as collateral damage."

"Irevessa likes to leave people feeling indebted to her," she says, smiling just a touch under the lingering of the gaze. Even through a visor Sofia could appreciate the facts of the situation like that, the feeling that lingered even without true contact. "Butter them up first so they slide onto the hook easier, mm? Think that's why she keeps me close.. too receptive," she chuckles shaking her head.

With their drinks arriving Sofia gives the tender a wink and they're on their way without a fuss, but she stays focused on Soleene and let's the drinks sit, "Right now there isn't a location because the Empire has t built what Irevessa is worried about yet. It is, however, standard operating procedure for this kind of military action and as a pirate who has had her fair share of dealings with the Empire she knows well what they'll do next. Luckily.. you'll be in my hands, Irevessa likes to keep her most trusted crew close and handling you will bring me one more step closer to her trust."

"I can handle the technical stuff, I just need you to put together a couple bodies who can brute force their way into a place-" she lays her hand down flat on Soleene's arm to give some extra gravity, "But try not to kill anyone, alright? We don't need to trigger a larger Imperial response to our actions. If you start blasting and killing we might get them to dispatch walkers or tie's- we don't want that. Besides, less killing the better right?"

"Oh, I figured it was something like that," she gave a shrug on the matter before letting out a sigh under her breath. "You hitch a ride once and you end up paying for it somehow. Well, I do feel a little responsible for having her here, even if it was indirectly. If she's right, this job was going to be something we were going to do anyway."

Soleene would give a glance at the drinks but ultimately wouldn't touch them. As she said before, she was on duty and she didn't just take off her helmet like her livelihood was casual. "Ah, one step way ahead of them. I guess it's the downside of having a military doctrine when it comes to operations like this. But okay. So I keep in touch with you and out of the captain's hair in the meantime?"

"Well, I might also have a technical guy in mind too but yeah, I'll make sure he won't get too in your face if he's on board. As for not killing," she said with a glance upwards, bobbing her head with what must have been a smug expression. "That's almost a specialized skillset among the Mandalorians but that's something I can do. Might have to consider a brat or a wookie."
