Going to a bar in full armour and your head covered by a helmet would probably not be most folks' idea of fun. Loitering about and *not* drinking while at it, perhaps even less so.
And yet that's exactly what the person in the scary looking pitch-black and slate grey armour was doing, sitting at a table close to the centre of the bar-room, tapping rhythmically at the table next to where one would expect a mug of beer or something of the kind - which was conspicuously not there.
Presently it seemed like the "scary out-of-place weirdo" was considering changing at least that, as the helmet with an equally scary (and out of place) beast-like pattern shifted more and more frequently to the bar counter.

A while later Mayrelli bounces into the rest stop, greeting and waving at those she recognised before spending a moment to clean some engine oil from her gloves. "Damn rear anti-grav is playing up again. I swear, you run over one buckethead."
With a sigh she makes her way to the bar and signals for a drink and "one of those extra long straws." Before turning to lean back against it to examine the rest of the room. Haat, in full Mando attire, does stand out a little.
"Oh, hey Haat! You hear on business?"

The voice draws the helmet to Mayrelli's direction even before she addresses it. "May", the throaty, mid-pitch voice answers, the helmet moving up and down in a nod. "Not strictly. But got to keep eyes and ears sharp".Mayrelli Fayedd wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 12:39 amA while later Mayrelli bounces into the rest stop, greeting and waving at those she recognised before spending a moment to clean some engine oil from her gloves. Maybe not the easiest in the helmet, but still.
The eyes, visible through the scary pattern, visibly shift to the drink, then to the oil smears on her. "Hard at work again, eh?" The drink again. "Right..." A sigh, somewhat held back. "I should get one too", they say, standing up and stepping over to the bar to ask, after some time thinking, for "a fruity beer, the meanest ya got". A short pause, then "... and one of them long straws too.", they add. Was the voice making an effort to sound extra harsh there?
Mug in hand, they lean against the counter besides May. "Got that thing to do in a bit, eh?", they say while looking at the faces around.

"Huh? Nah, feeling a bit tired today so I was....ohhhh, like, a secret thing thing?"
She glances left and right.
"Yeah, I guess that too once we get the anti-grav patched up. We use some real scuzzed up parts I swear. Guess we aren't really importing factory new here."
Her drink arrives and she picks it up to suck noisily through the straw.
"You ready for the thing? It sounds pretty exciting. Kinda bummed it's not really speeder compatible."

Re: D5 EA - Talking through their haat
Haat's eyes are the most clearly visible part of their face through the helmet, so it's not hard to see them roll upward as May takes a while to get what they're on about. When she does, they nod, maybe somewhat impatiently.
"That! The thing."
Their drink arrives not shortly after, and they follow suit in trying it. May can probably see their brow furrowing a bit through the helmet's opening. Was it the drink? Was it the thing?
"Born ready", they say simply, although their flat voice doesn't quite make it sound that way. "Not really my best element either, I'd say. But gotta do what we gotta do." A shrug. "And... apparently it's an important thing."
They look to one side and the other as well, take another sip. "Just I'm not sur..." They stop mid-sentence, keep silent for a few seconds, then start over. "What do you think of Iz..."
A moment, as if uncertain how to put it, as they look around again. "That hooded one. Whaddya make o' them?"

Re: D5 EA - Talking through their haat
"Her?" Mayrelli leans forward, sounding very confident. "Definitely super evil. But, she can't read minds. I checked that out myself from an expert."
She leans back a little, still sipping loudly.
"But I bet Mandalore knows that, so he's using her while she's using him. You know, like in a smuggling ring, or a marriage. The tricky part will be the timing on who gets what they want when. That's always when things get dicey."
Looking over at Haat.
"What do you reckon?"

Re: D5 EA - Talking through their haat
May's answer draws a scoff that can only be noticed from inside the helmet by the sudden puff of air that accompanies it. "A relief that they can't read minds at least, I s'pose", they said in derision. "But if Mandalore know they can't be trusted, that's better, I s'pose."
A long slurp.
"Not someone I'd trust in something that might lose us people who'll matter when push comes to shove, if ya ask me." A shrug. "But it's true the thing could attract attention one way or another. And it's something important enough for the man to risk it either way. So... " Another shrug.
It's more or less clear they don't exactly agree with the decision to prioritise that now, but equally clear they won't criticise Mandalore's decisions.
"And the hat itself? Whaddya think o'it?"
