[D2LA] Boba Bash

[Garen Saxon]

"... I'm sorry." Garen said, sympathy evident in his voice. He was silent for a few moments. "This does feel like a better conversation to have with alcohol than with this." Still, he took a heavy sip from his boba.

"It sounds like she was a Mando, though, through and through." He tilted his head. "Someone who'd definitely join the Manda after she died. If you believe in that sort of thing."

[Fé Kelborn]

She chuckled at that. "Yeah, unfortunately, there's quite a bit of, 'and then they died' going on with me." She genuinely sounded amused despite the subject matter. "Don't worry, it's been a long time. It's nice to think about her. And I know she definitely did."

[Garen Saxon]

"Hmmm." It sounded faintly warm, although it was hard to tell for sure. Garen wasn't the most expressive person at the best of time, and the mask didn't help. "Well, hopefully that's changed. I don't know how I'd feel about the last drink I ever had being boba." Still, he WAS drinking it.

He shifted a little, relaxing in his seat. "I've got a bit of that myself, I suppose. It's a hard galaxy, sometimes. It's a bit less hard when you've got people watching your back, like in the Rebuilders."

[Fé Kelborn]

She chuckled at that. "I think you should be safe. It is. I'm glad we're here, supporting one another. Things are better since joining - I hope that's been true for you, too."

[Garen Saxon]

"It is, actually." Garen said. "I mean, I'd been a mercenary before this. Some tense work. Clear out bunkers or command centers, disable or blow their defenses, that sort of thing. Get a paycheck at the end of every two weeks. It was alright, I guess."

He shrugged. "Forge work is new. And I'm closer with everyone. But I think the big change is fighting means something. I'm trying to make things better for the Clan, not just..." He grunted. "Well, I'll be honest, I wasn't always sure who I was working for, as a mercenary. Especially when the Republic turned into the Empire. Most of the same people, fairly different feel."

[Fé Kelborn]

"Yeah, what's working the forge like?" She asked, curious. She'd never been especially crafty, so it was really unfamiliar. "Yeah... I hear that, about the fighting meaning something. There's even more to bounty hunting as a Manalorian, and then as a Rebuilder specifically. I hear that as far as the Empire goes... well, it was eroding slowly anyway. In hindsight... it feels like walking into a trap."

[Garen Saxon]

"Hot." Garen said. There was a brief pause. "It's great. It's like engineering, but art. Like it's alive, and powerful, and beautiful all at once. I'm not sure I'm describing it alright. But that's how it is." He chuckled softly. "Also, really, it is hot. I suppose that's not necessarily a downside, eh Pyro?"

He tilted his head. "What do you mean?"

She laughed. "Honestly, I like cool weather. But I love my Siz too much."

"Oh... I don't know. Just like... sometimes you look back on stuff and are like, 'huh, that's kind of sus' or 'wow, that guy really was a slimeball'. Hindsight is 20/20 sort of thing."

[Garen Saxon]

"Hmmm." Garen considered that a moment. "Maybe there's something to be said for contrasts. A little bit of cool with a lot of hot. Or..." He raised his mostly empty boba cup. "Sweet and... uh, chewy." Chuckling, he set his cup back down.

The comment made him grunt. "Right. A bit sus. Like that lady we encountered when we were looking for the mechanic." He sighed. "I hope that's not trouble for us later. I'm worried it might be."
