[D1ME/LE] In it for the Food

Cha was better known for his time in cities, looking for work, but there was always a flip side after that. Sometimes you needed to hide for a while until scrutiny died down, and while you were out there, you had to eat. And so, the thief had learned to become a hunter.

Cha sets up a group of tripwires and pit traps. All the better if he doesn't have to fire a round and give away position.

It's a rather quiet evening here in the Violet Forest. The cold weather of the evening was starting to settle in once the Cha began to lay down the traps. Otherwise...the hunt is yours.

((Assuming they're typical hunting traps, so roll me a Average Survival check please for them))

Cha is swift and practiced in his work and he is reasonably sure that he has set them correctly.

You feel they are as prepared as they're going to be. You were never really much of a hunter, of course, but you felt confident to that it'll do the job for something small.

Now the trap is set, what are you doing? Trying to lure something out or will you lie in wait?

Cha lies in wait, biding his time. He scales a nearby tree to take stock of the area. He has no idea what else is in the area so patience seems key.

Cha taps his armor stealth back on, vanishing into the underbrush to watch the wildlife.

You think you are stealthy and wait a little bit for something who won't notice you to fall your trap.

It takes a little while, but eventually your rope hits a snag and tightens up, dangling.

Sure enough, you managed to capture a small meal.

Rather portly one too.

Cha can already hear the jeers if he decided to present this animal as an offering. Even if it might have been a good meal, there was no honor or reputation to be gained. And deep down, something began to stir in his Mandalorian heirarchy of needs.

"Hey little guy, do you want something to eat?"

He pulls out a few rations from the survival pack, curious about what kind of creature he had found.

The creature begins to flail around on its rope, and continues to struggle to get out.

((You can make me a average check on Education or Survival to know what this is.))

What you have there is a Neri. A native species of the the planet of Ti'rok. Mostly a burrowing creature, this one seems to have come up from underground to look for some food. They tend to eat roots, berries and other fruit, so it likely would not be interested in what you have in your ration pack.

Normally pack creatures, are able to inflate themselves to enable a defense mechanism and harden their skin, surrounding themselves with their species to make a sort of circular wall. Which would likely explain why the creature looks portly at the moment.

"Hmm. I wonder if there are more of them." Cha pulls out a glop grenade. "Sorry buddy, but I can't let you go quite yet."

(Hoping to use the grenade to ensnare and take with to tame)

Cha tosses to Glop Grenade, the foam expanding and sealing around the creature. The hardened skin does nothing, as nothing tries to penetrate it.

(Advantage on boost to help taming it?)

You have successfully captured the Neri! Doesn't seem to be too upset over being covered in gook.

Would you like to give it a nickname?
