(D4 EM) Widen those lenses

Forte woke up on this day not feeling too well, but he was going to make certain that he at the least got something productive done. So he hopes over to the quarters of the neighborly cyber doc, helmet in hand. Now equipped with a rad set or aviator optics sensors.

[Fitz]

Ever the early bird, Fitz was brushing his fur when he hears the ding alerting him to a visitor at his door. He picks up his full face helmet and goes to check who is calling on him at this early hour. Seeing his Drabatan friend, he swipes the palm scanner to open his door and sets his helmet back down. He generally covered his visage, even around his fellow Mandalorians, but didn't feel the need around a select few, Forte included among them.

"Morning... what brings you here this early?"

"Good Morning, I'm hoping to get some help with this system I got as thanks for helping some local flyboys make a proper runway in the colony. A pretty standard enhanced optics suite, but the lens is modeled after some pre space fliers who were the best in their home planet way back in the days." (Enhanced optics suite mod requested, for +1 vigilance skill)

His mouth opened wide, exposing teeth many and sharp while a low growl escaped. Forte would recognize it as a yawn.

"Well... we can't have that. I can make some adjustments... I think I have some replacements lenses around here that would serve."

Fitz turns away from Forte and starts digging around in some boxes.

"So, how have you been managing these days?"

"Work around the colony was high paced, but New Hope finally has a proper spaceport. With this, hopefully they won't need to deal with pirates for much longer." He rubs the back of his head, "but I hate to admit it, but I've always been too much of a city slicker for thriving in the outdoors like this. I know enough to get from point A to point B in tact, and I can down a beast once it tries to kill me, but ask me to track one by myself and it won't get found if it don't want to be."

Fitz's eyes dilate for a moment when Forte speaks about the difficulties of life in the outdoors. "Yes... This is nothing like Nar Shaddaa. I would be much happier back in a proper city... but my happiness has never been much of a factor in the course of my life."

He takes the helmet from Forte with his left hand while a small drill extends out of the trigger finger of his right hand. Reaching into the helmet, Fitz gets to work removing the old lenses.

While working with exacting precision, he continues small talk, a skill he's begun to pick up after spending so much time around the settlers. "It is good that you worked on the spaceport. It will be useful for us and for them... I have spent my time administering medical treatment to the colonists."

"Larger or smaller scale stuff? Had some mentors back in my school days who told me you could look at a hospital waiting room and see what kind of day the city has been in. Worked well before the war started anyway." He walks in if allowed in and finds a chair, but otherwise leans against a wall as if the weight of the past pushes down on his shoulders for just a bit.

Pulling out the old lenses, Fitz gingerly seats the replacements and begins reassembling the helmet.

"Small scale... very small. Not much compared to combat medicine... The hardest part is all the talking. They insist on telling me what's wrong... What's wrong with them, what's wrong with others, what's wrong with the settlement, or what's wrong with the galaxy... So much talking."

Looking up from his work, he takes on a look of discomfort. "Come in, you should've taken a seat... The upside of all my work in New Hope is I'm... more comfortable talking." He tosses the helmet back to Forte while withdrawing the drill into his finger, "Try that on."

"Well, that's good to hear. Getting out of your comfort zone is the only way to get better, some say. " He takes a seat, taking a more relaxed pose, taking time to ponder something. However, he does first take the helmet, tries it on, then takes out a bit of smoke captured in a glass vial and brings it up to his face. What once was hard to see into, now can be found to be very small font which comes together to say something in some language a pilot from out of town spoke. "Maybe I should do the same, perhaps there's some junkyard you want to look through some time. If so, give me a call and I'll be there to help."

Fitz perks up at the mention of a possible salvage operation.

"That's a good idea. You know what they say, 'One Hutt's trash is another Gank's treasure.'... We might find some interesting bits out here. I do admire how the colonists make use of their resources."
