[Garen Saxon]

(Mandalore's quarters)

There would be no time to waste. As soon as he'd returned from his trip, Garen tucked the commlink safely away in his room. He'd examine it carefully later, make sure it was exactly what that damn Imperial had claimed it was.

From there, to Mandalore's quarters. He banged on the door firmly, letting some of the urgency of the matter affect his knocking.

Mandalore's quarters were not unapproachable, but as a man of his station few would dare to step toward his doors without reason. For the time of the man within was one best spent furthering their goals- or gaining the much needed rest his body required. Today, when Garen approaches the door, it would open at Mandalore's behest to the end of a conversation.

Irizka was reviewing a datapad that Mandalore had given them. With Garen's arrival they look to him, nod, and then make for a departure.

[Mandalore]

"Garen?" he turns to the man, granting him his full attention and allowing Irizka to make their departure uninterrupted.

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

May, who was only a few steps behind Garen ends up having to awkwardly slide past Irizka.


"Uhhh....hi...hope the...oh gotta go, bye!"

And then she sets up behind Garen, clearly leaving the bulk of the conversation to the big man.

[Garen Saxon]

Garen cast a curious look back towards Irizka as they left, but that was Raven's business, not his. Not exactly.

"Mandalore." Garen greeted the other man, reaching up to pull his helmet off; he hadn't even removed it since coming back yet. "The meeting with the Empire didn't go well. There wasn't any attempt at negotiation. Just an attempt to turn me into a spy. Using a hostage." Without the helmet, the grimace that Garen had worn on and off for the last few hours would be all too visible, his free hand clenching again.

[Mandalore]

"Come," he says, raising a hand between Garen and the departing Irizka. Casting a glance between Garen and Mayrelli. Allowing Garen to decide how private this might be.

As the door shuts behind them Mandalore leads Garen toward his desk and allows the man to sit. Choosing himself to stand as he regards his fellow warriors.

"You will feed him information in full, do not disappoint. When it is time, I will speak with you again so that we might right this wrong. Until then, what can you tell me of this hostage?"

[Garen Saxon]

Garen just gave Mayrelli a nod. She was there, she deserved to know. "I understand. Yes. Thank you." Garen's voice was firm, and he nodded. This was why they followed him...

Creaking a little, and not just his armor, Garen sat as directed. "She... was from my old life. I've told you about my time with my old unit." Garen paused a moment, his expression neutral. When he spoke, his voice was heavy. "Once when we were in a real bad area, we found a girl. Alive. Orphaned, of course." Garen grimaced. "Wasn't us, but that didn't matter. We took her in.

Garen leaned back in his chair, his eyes going distant as he smiled. "She hung around engineering. I don't know why she liked it there... maybe she's got that engineering spirit. I started looking out for her. Showed her some stuff. She was a quick study." His eyes seemed to sparkle as the memories came back.

But then the memories moved on, and the sparkle faded. Garen leaned forward, sighing heavily. "And then... I was injured, and most of the unit was wiped out. And she was gone. I looked..." Garen's jaw tightened, and his hands clenched. After a few moments, he relaxed. "Anyway. The damn Imperial commander responsible for that whole mess has her now."

[Mandalore]

Mandalore listens to Garen's tale with the stoic appearance provided by a Mandalorian helm. However, this would not last as Garen settles into the moment after the tale Mandalore removes his helm. Setting it to the side on the table beside them his gray hair looks grayer, his skin rougher, his eyes darker. This is a man who wears his years and experiences with the strength of one who has overcome much.

"Then she is one of us. In the eyes of the Manda, she would be your child. By creed we will return her to you safely," he says, his voice resolute.

"Mayrelli," he looks to her, "when you leave here I ask that you find Bura and put her to task in finding what she can about if this foundling might be within the nearby base and where. Tell her everything," he focuses on Garen, "if that is allowed by you?"

[Garen Saxon]

"It is." Garen said, nodding firmly.

He straightened, sitting up in his chair. "I only ask that I be allowed to join any rescue attempt. Because Valeria knows me..." Garen's expression grew dark, "-and because I want to kill that bastard Alaris myself."

[Mandalore]

"I would not have it any other way, Garen, it is your right," he says, clasping his hand over Garen's shoulder.

[Garen Saxon]

"Thank you, Mandalore." Garen took a deep breath as he nodded. For a few moments, he was silent.

Then he nodded again. "I shall report regularly. Let me know if I should send any special messages, eh?" Garen chuckled roughly. "I almost can't believe Alaris thought we wouldn't kill him for this, but I suppose most folk don't really know Mandalorians."

[Mandalore]

"Those with power rarely comprehend how little it means to those not within their structure," he says, offering kind but hard eyes.

[Jan Ordo]

"Prayton I must insist you-" Jan's voice almost seems to process first before the sliding open doors can be heard. As the door shuts behind her Jan stands there looking between those gathered. A flush overtakes her cheeks as she looks away, "I.. did not mean to intrude. I am sorry."

Mayrelli salutes, clearly all fired up from the thought of some bucketheads messing with her sort of family's sort of family. Damn Imps.
"Yes Mandalore!" and then to Garen. "We'll get her back, don't you worry. Then I can hold this commander down while you get the hammer."

"Oh, hey Jan! We were just...talking about stuff."

[Mandalore]

"Ah, Jan. Garen, Mayrelli, I ask that if you need me further you return later. Jan and I have something personal to discuss, and I would not wish to keep her waiting longer," he says, looking between the two.

[Mayrelli Fayedd]

Mayrelli looks between the two for a moment.


"Ahhhh. Yup, going now. Sorry to be a bother. I'll be outside!"

Quickly exit Mayrelli.
