Hitting the Books [Day 1, EA, MA, LA]
Event Type: Main Event
Participants: Open to all.
Timeslot: Day 1: Choice of EA-LA
There is no time to waste in pursuit of Mandalore's quarry. Legend tells that an ancient Mandalorian vessel once went down over this planet in ancient times. Iriska, Mandalore's newest acquaintance, says that they know this vessel had been felled in atmosphere over this planet in the region millennia ago. While the library has never been tended to in the time since they have arrived the Rebuilders are yet in possession of a wealth of information stuffed away in crates and boxes all across the complex. With Mandalore's goal set thus the Rebuilders have been tasked with unearthing as much of this information as they can and scanning it for anything of potential worth to their investigation.
Some of the less intellectually inclined try to make use of themselves in other small ways, but ultimately every mind set to this task brings Mandalore closer to his goal.
Players will roll in ONE of the Following Sections.
Scouring the Archives:
Players must possess ranks to roll one of the following Knowledge Skills:
Lore @ Easy Difficulty (♦)
Any other Knowledge Skill @ Average Difficulty, with 2 Setback. (♦♦■■)
Results:
Every 2 Uncanceled Success' will add 1 Duty Point to the total scored in this event. Triumphs will grant the player extra information regarding the topic they are researching that may unshroud some of the mystery around this artifact that is sought. Advantages uncancelled will have no effect in this event, but should be tallied as a bookkeeping note for personal use later on.
Failures uncancelled simply means the roll failed. Uncancelled Threat cause the PC to suffer Strain equal to number of Threat gained. Should a PC hit their strain Threshold find themselves exhausted by their exertions enough that they take the following timeslot to nap. (Effectively losing the next timeslot.) However, they will recover half their strain threshold following that spent timeslot.
Making Sense of the Mess:
Everyone else who did not roll as detailed above may make on of the following rolls:
Athletics @ Average (♦♦)
Unskilled Knowledge Roll @ Average (♦♦)
Results:
Unskilled Knowledge: A players First uncancelled Success grants a Success to a roller of the Scouring the Archives section. After the first, every additional 2 success' grants an additional Success to a roller. All success' gained by a PC in this section must go to One Other PC. This choice may be made post-roll, and the player receiving the success' should edit it into their post. Advantages uncancelled will have no effect in this event, but should be tallied as a bookkeeping note for personal use later on.
Athletics: As above. With the addition of: Triumphs rolled here will grant a Personal Duty Point for the player to spend as they see fit. This Duty Point may be donated to this events success, but must be noted as such in the players post. Otherwise, the Duty Point will merely be assumed to be taken by the Player.
Denouement:
5 Duty must be gained in order to successfully find enough for Mandalore's means, and the 5 Duty gained will be considered "spent" on this goal. All other Duty gains will first be directed toward building the Library enhancement for the Enclave, 5 Duty. Any additional Duty gained in this event will be sent to the Community Duty Pool to be spent in whatever manner the clan decides.
Participants: Open to all.

Re: Hitting the Books [Day 1, EA, MA, LA]
While obviously not a Mandalorian Human, and thus lacking the personal connection to their people's histories that many of his compatriots shared, Fitz was studious when it came to rote tasks such as this. After the Mandalore's announcement, he joined others in their search through the materials spread across the base.
In an attempt to improve productivity, Fitz tries to centralize the materials and categorize them into some sort of sensible catalog. However, as is often the case when it comes to the pursuit of efficiency, Fitz spent the majority of his time planning, preparing, and organizing and failed to produce any tenable results himself.
D1, EA, Hitting the Books, Unskilled Education: 5eA+2eD 0 successes, 5 advantage

Failure with 5 advantages.

Soleene was here for the early part of the afternoon lending some muscle to the effort. Books weren't exactly her thing and she was going to assume that not many of these found scriptures would come in magazine form. No matter, the heavy lifting wasn't something she was unfamiliar with and she aided, however, she could by picking up the slack, like reaching for boxes or moving away bulk that was in the way. Despite the confusion on her part, she managed to do something!

With the kitchen cleaned up after lunch, Rook turned her attention to the mystery of the lost Mandalorian vessel. Research was nothing new to the chef. It was something she enjoyed, actually. She spent the rest of the afternoon, uncovering whatever she could.

Garen's formal study tended towards the more practical. But since joining the Mandalorians, he'd made a study of their culture, and where they had been.
He was no stranger to hard work, and that included hard study. It paid off.

Re: Hitting the Books [Day 1, EA, MA, LA]
Raven was... not a bookish person. Not at all. She knew warfare, strategy, and tactics, but not anything that she figured would be useful. What she was good at however, was lifting heavy things around, and navigating boxes and stacks successfully. Praxton had a love for reading physical books, and while he didn't exactly have a hoard of them, Raven had grown familiar enough with gauging some value about reading materials and what could possibly be useful.

Griddak doesn't have the mind for sorting through the mess and gets annoyed with it. He tosses some books around but can't recall or find any details he needs.

Cha's specialized knowledge base is almost entirely confined to the mechanical. His method of gathering information was usually by hitting the streets. Neither of those two things were of any use here.
He does some scut work, which earns nothing but a tad of goodwill from the other Rebuilders.

After a presumably eventful morning, Varina came back and sifted through the archives without any sort of ulterior motive. Obviously. Since it seemed to involve a lot of carrying things, she didn't bother changing out of her armor just yet.
Since she couldn't find anything worth borrowing for her own purposes, she did contribute to... somebody?
That somebody turned out to be Garen! "Here you go, old guy." Then she walked away super cool like cause she was a teenager!

Mauricio was never really a bookish man. No, while others buried themselves in books, he studied the way of the gun.
He added nothing to the cause here.

Mayrelli is crate at helping people and happily lifts heavy things out of the way. Sometimes she worries about the Mandalore's new acquaintance, or that they might all get killed looking for this ancient relic. But then there is always another crate.

Cassie joined the group in trying to find the necessary information.
Emphasis on trying. She looked for anything related to warfare.
Considering hte origins of this library...there was an abundance.

Claymore was not a book worm by any means, but he does do it a fair amount for a Mandalorian. He read through a few books about the Core Worlds, because he knew of a similar looking vessel to the one Iriska acquired. He was able to find some data, but not a lot.
