[Day 5, MA, Combat] Secure the Relic
Event Type: Main Event (Combat)
Participants: 3 PC's
Timeslot: Day 5 MA
Irizka has done something truly miraculous before the eyes of all, and surfaced an ancient Mandalorian vessel from the depths of the lake. While the rest of the enclave scours the rest of the vessel to gather what salvageable historical artifacts that can be found or weapons that might aid the effort a small team sets out for the depths of the vessel at the Enigmatic Lords side. With their guidance the team is bound for the control room where the leader of these ancient Mandalorians would have held command over the vessel. Resting upon their ancient bones is supposed to be the ancient lost helm of the first Mandalore.
Metal creaks and groans under the pressure of the resettling craft, now on it's new beachhead. Water drips from every surface while some sections are completely closed off by the flooding. However, Irizka guides the team headed by Praxton further through the craft toward that final goal. Setting first foot into the ancient space behind large durasteel doors marked with the skull of the mythosaur. At the very center of a ceremonially raised position rests the ancient corpse of the warrior that once lead this vessel, and on their head rests the lost helm of the first Mandalore. Praxton steps in front of Irizka only to be stopped by the sound.
Imperial craft are heard swooping in overhead. Metal boots punch down onto a surface somewhere above the team but about a room behind them. Irizka looks to Praxton, "I will retrieve the helm. They were my compatriot in life, and I deserve this right. You should face this enemy which defiles this place with their presence because of your own," they nod, "it is only correct."
Praxton nods, and turns to the team. With a deft hand signal he directs the group outward as the giant door is closed behind them. With the darkness of the ships interior before them the bit of light from discarded glowsticks lights up that mythosaur skull in an eerie green glow. In the distance a rocking explosion is heard as the Imperials make entry. Now they just needed to hold them off long enough for Irizka to collect what they have all come here for.

When entering this thread please post all relevant Combat Stats as well as rolling for initiative [using Vigilance as if ambushed]. There will be a brief roleplay, and then things will kick off.

Raven accompanied the group silently, focused on the task at hand while a part of her was sensitive to anything that could resemble treachery from the witch. Something was not right about that person, at all. If only Deonis or Phroth were here, they could probably tell me more. Or something...

"Don't underestimate an enemy," Praxton reminds, his words cool while he prepares himself for combat. A glance over his shoulder toward his wife offers that connection between the two for that brief private moment even across the dark room. They were ready, they were all ready. No one was going to fall today.

Moving in sync with Praxton, Raven raised her carbine, bringing the telescopic sight to her visor. Like the Mandalorians of old, she took good advantage of the darkness on their sight to score an accurate barrage of blaster bolts on the first squad that showed up.

With the two Mandalorian warriors moving straight in to meet the enemy there is only seconds between the three bodies they fell. Their comrades quickly rushing for cover that too disappears from them. One of Raven's strikes activating an ancient defense panel that retracts the portable cover the enemy might have used. With an open field between them and their goal the stormtroopers were hardly aware the barrel they were now within.

"I know you're here. PRAXTON SAXON, YOU'RE MINE- you scum sucking terrorist areutii son of a shit stick," she screams, the words burning out of her mouth as she runs in behind the first set of stormtroopers. Raising her rifle to quickly open fire on her destined target.
Though her bolts miss striking true, she does spark something in this aching ships old bones. Striking a panel she triggers an ancient alarm which floods the area with new light as lights that have not works for eons suddenly spark to life once more.
Maneuver: Move into Long.
Maneuver: Targets Praxton with Your Mine. (Upgrades all attacks against Target once for remainder of Encounter.)
Action: Attack Praxton.

"Watch yourself kid," the warrior behind her says, pushing himself into her space from behind. Using his knowhow directing her body into a better position that he might more easily defend her, keep her from harm. She was only a rookie after all, never seen much combat. Just a kid.

Another squad of troopers is not far behind as they rush out into the field. While the strength of Mandalore may be in these fine warriors the Empire had its strength too: numbers. They rush onto the field, coming to the aid of their fellows. Firing down the lane from the right hall they pepper Raven and Praxton's location with bolts, offering up some freedom from worry of their immediate counter attack.

More troopers- a flash of white across the horizon and then the heat of battle rages even higher. Blaster bolts too find themselves pinging across Lysa's shoulder plate until she rushes hard to a corner out of their way. The momentum of the hits jostling her about with their force. Granting opportunity seized by the troopers to continue their advance down the hallway toward them, closing the distance and creating their forward line.

With the other squad finding advantage, the troopers coming in behind them find themselves able to open fire instead of plugging the hole in their line. Without delay they pepper the area containing Forte, striking true once or twice as the volley of bolts rattle off his armor. Taking all targets off the field of immediate retribution, they pave the way to bring in their gunner team.
