[Day 6, EA] Light Lunch

Some sandwiches were put out for those wanting something in the hours before the celebration began. Rook continued to work in the kitchen, thankful she had had the foresight to stock up for something like this.

[Fitz]

Arriving early, Fitz snagged a few sandwiches, planning on eating off in a corner. He usually ate by himself. Other species tended to find the display of a Gank eating... unappetizing.

He stops by to address Rook before making off with his pickings, "Thanks for the food... I appreciate what you do for us, providing good food for the enclave."

[Rook Yorrick]

"We all do what we can." she smiled. "This is my small part. Keep you all nourished and sated, ready to do things that need to be done."

This is largely a fluff roll, as Rook motivates everyone to enjoy themselves and be ready for tomorrow. But, that's 8 Strain removed and a Boost to all skills for 3 rounds.

[Fitz]

Fitz grunt growls, "I wouldn't sell myself short. You know the ancient wisdom, an army marches on its stomach... There are a few ways to lead, to motivate. I've gotten both the carrot and the stick... I much prefer the carrot. All the better if the carrot is mashed, fried, or sliced up with a salad."

[Rook Yorrick]

"That's true." she nodded. "But, I think I can do more. I want to do more."

[Fitz]

"Well... what more do you want to do and what is keeping you from doing it?"

[Rook Yorrick]

"I'm not much of a fighter. I've been training, but it hasn't gone well." she explained. "I have been studying tactics, though. I have some strategic knowledge."

[Fitz]

There is silence for a moment with the mask obscuring Fitz's face and any signs of what he might be thinking.

"Maybe we need to find the right weapon for you... maybe what you need isn't a weapon..."

There is another moment of silence from the Gank.

"We could muster a few to help you train, find what best suites you... Or, you could make yourself better. My people replace the weak parts of themselves to improve.

I can think of a few options for you... First would be a new arm, one to help you shoot better or hit harder. Second would require others... we Ganks use an implant to communicate almost instantly. As you can imagine, it is very useful during a fight. You could provide immediate orders and guidance to a squad in combat. But, others would need it as well to receive what you send... I might be able to make a similar tool or implant that could work without others having one themselves.

Those are a few options if you wanted to go that way. Or if you can think of something I may be able to build it.

If you'd rather not, I am happy to spend time with you training."

[Rook Yorrick]

"I'll think about it." she said after a quiet moment. "Those are good suggestions. As I am, I simply don't have a physicality suited for combat. That seems like a lot of upgrades. Improved communication would be good, as long as I am not a liability in the field."

[Fitz]

"No pressure, just options. I don't understand you xenos' attachment to the flesh, but I'll respect it.

As far as your combat readiness, I always say... 'It doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be done.' Don't worry about being the best shot or the toughest son of a bantha out there. Lean on the person next to you and let your own strengths come out."

[Rook Yorrick]

"Perhaps. But, when I am not the most accurate, the strongest or the toughest, then others may have to carry me." She shook her head. "Better to stay here and provide in other ways than that."

[Fitz]

Fitz nods his head, "It's your decision where you would best help the cause. What you do in the enclave is invaluable... But, if you feel the call to take up arms, I would stand by your side. In fact, if you want to take a patrol soon, let me know and we will go hunt some Imps." He offers, letting out a predatory growl.

[Rook Yorrick]

She nodded. "I should do some hunting, of one kind or another."
